Surviving Grief’s Firsts

A recording from Lynn J. Broderick, Jason MacKenzie and Christopher Carazas's live video

I hope you had a Merry Christmas if you celebrated. And to everyone else—I hope you had an awesome week.

I’m happy to report that my first Christmas without my dad didn’t hit the way I expected.

I suspect it’ll all crash in later. Grief does that—sometimes arriving as cold droplets on bare skin, other times as tidal waves that knock you off your feet.

For now, we’re soaking in the warm weather in California, visiting my Navy son. Holding these moments close. Loving the ones who are here. Remembering the precious time we shared with those who are no longer.

I’ll write a full post next week. In the meantime, I wanted to share my recent live video with Jason and Christopher…and thank everyone who tuned in live!

Surviving Grief’s Firsts: Three Vulnerable Stories

Everyone talks about the last moment with someone you love. No one prepares you for the Firsts that come after.

I’d love to hear from you!

Are you still bracing for your Firsts? Have you made it through and found some footing again? What’s helped?
